Phlox pilosa, Prairie Phlox (Near Native)

Native from the Midwest, south to the Gulf of Mexico, the historic range of this species extends to the south western shores of Lake Erie and doesn't extend into Ontario.

Grown from seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery this species is still new to the spaces I tend. They reportedly thrive in dry meadow settings and add a splash of bright, early season colour to low, grassland ecosystems.
