A new addition to my gardens, I was charmed by these when I saw them on a couple of stops on a native plant nursery road trip I took at the end of June 2023.
Their upright form, slightly fuzzy, green-grey foliage and pale-yellow blooms with bright yellow centers create an intriguing combination of rustic and elegant. I added a couple of plants to my collection from the trip also ended up receiving some seeds from the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library last fall so am able to offer seedlings for anyone else who would like to add this understated beauty to a sunny, dry garden or meadow.
(Not to be confused with the, widespread but introduced from Eurasia, Sulphur cinquefoil Potentilla recta)
